What's an Intern To do?

Meet Gianna- Gianna is a High School Student from Philadelphia- I am lucky to have her help as an intern for a couple of weeks! What exactly does an intern do- Well, there seems to be absolutely tonnes to do! Gi is not a professional photographer, but yet there are so many skills needed to make a photo studio run. As an intern expect your duties to be very varied - From sweeping the floor, to carrying a ladder, to walking the studio dogs - Organisational skills and Confidence are a Must!


Gi on location where duties included first - remaining calm - knowing my equipment well enough to find it on cue, being able to field questions from inquiring family and guests, fluffing dresses and even fixing the bride's hair

Taking a Break from the computer, Gi took Joe and Otis around the hood for some air....

I found out later that she loves all animals and shopping too

She also loves to have fun and has tonnes of friends

Designs are pretty easy- You select the photos that you like - I design the layout of your book-

The pages are then emailed to you so that you can give them your final thumbs up

We take our photography seriously. When we started to plan the wedding, we researched more photographers than we can count and interviewed five. We hired you because we were so impressed with your work. It was obvious that you had the ability to take portraits and candids. You showed us actual complete wedding albums, not a compilation of one or two photographs from each wedding.

On May 22, you and Steven arrived at the church promptly (even ahead of us). By the way, the two of you seem to have an extraordinary working rapport.

You were always professional, personable and courteous. At times, you must have been invisible because we have seen photographs in which you were standing within a foot or two of us and neither one of us remembers seeing you there!

We had high expectations and you, by far, exceeded all of them. The proofs are absolutely fantastic! We don’t know how we will ever decide which images to have in an album. We don’t know how we will ever decide which ones to frame.

You are truly gifted.

It really was a pleasure having you and Steven with us the entire day of our wedding.

Cass & Marc just picked up their album 2 nights ago - Great to see them and Thanks Cass for the recipe for Lavender Shortbread :) They did get to actually view their album after multiple pets to Otis & Joe who backed off eventually and let them get a peak at their album. Special thoughts go out to their pup on the mend.

Cass and Marc designed a vintage styled 12x12 wedding album with a Rustique Wine Leather Cover - BxW image centered on the cover- They chose a custom Ivory Moire for the inside of the cover and went with cream mattes with a gold liner. The overall feel was very candid, fun, romantic, timeless....

Otherwise I got a call from the Knot magazine - Something about being one of the Best of South Jersey- Look for the KNots announcement in 2010 - More on that as it occurs....

Today met with Susie & Jeff to finalise the last details before their wedding in September. Finalising things like the timeline for the day and Family Photos. This is usually done a few weeks before the event because things change throughout the year. Looking forward to a festive event in Beach Haven.
Colleen stopped in to pick up her Thank you Cards. She chose a linen finish with one of her favourite images full bleed on the front. Otis & Joey love it when Colleen & her mom Beth stop by.

I have to thank Colleen for forwarding me the best letter of thanks from her Godmother regarding the photos from her celebration-

The pictures are amazing. Christine is an artist. Colleen is beautiful. I have been looking through the pictures for hours. There are so many GREAT ones of Colleen and Dave together and some of the ones of her alone should be in a gallery. I love the one of her putting on the lip gloss with you watching. The ones in the bedroom are priceless. Her and Joe dancing, you watching, her and Dave with all the kids, Dave and her on the tree. Beth, there is not one shot that isn't great. Christine absolutely captured the feeling of the day. It was like being there again. I think the shots with the Colleen and bridesmaids are so cute and natural. There are so many really perfect shots, I could go on til morning talking about it. All the candids are top quality and express the joy of the day.

With everything else that went so perfect every step of way through this fairytale dream wedding, these pictures are the icing on the cake. May 30,2009 was the PERFECT DAY in every way for Colleen and Dave and all of us that love them. We have the pictures to prove it!!

No matter how much you love your friends_ if you have a bridal party of 16 or more- please don't try to travel in an elevator all together_
Though it was fun- for a few minutes ;) It became a bit hot and stuffy when our elevator became stuck in between floors- Note bridal flowers as bride was smashed against the wall in the background. We were having such a great time together that noone noticed as the location staff pushed us all together in one elevator :)

I love Joelle's Album! A combination of the classic and contemporary- Joelle & Matt's book had an Indigo Blue Japanese Bookcloth cover giving the book a raw silk texture. The cover was offset with a black and white image printed on metallic paper. Each 12x12 page had images lined in white with a black matte around. Pages had the squared off edges bringing in a contemporary feel to an other wise classic styled album. A huge Congratulations go out to Matt & Joelle who are expecting their first Child! HOORAY!

It was great to catch up with Katie & Duane as they came and picked up their wedding album- They went with a Sage Japanese Book Cloth Cover and an infra- red bxw image on the cover. The album was a Flush Styled album - done traditional style with one image on each page. They brought their sleeping wee one who did not wake up for any fan fare. It' been a few years- a great thing to see them!

Happy Happy New Year!

Hi Everyone! I can't believe 2008 is already here! Where has the time gone? I have been such a bad blogger :( I was reading about blog etiquette and came to realise that I am terrible! According to etiquette, one must update one's blog at least once a week so that one does not look like that one is not busy BUT I WAS TOO BUSY!!!!! I have been designing some awesome albums and working on some great frame orders, Taking portraits of some cute wee ones. I had a brush with fame, photographing 'soup for the soul' man Robert Canfield for some PR. I've been meeting with photographic artists for this years PHOTO 612 endeavours. BUSY BUSY BUSY! But now it's the start of a new year- a blank page some would say :) I have to say, I can't wait! I look forward to what the new year will bring- I can't wait to dig in to this years upcoming projects. Can one of my new years resolutions be to try to work harder on keeping the blog updated? I'll try!
